51 Fleetgate Open Garden – Heritage Open Days

September 18 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm | Cost: Free

Organized by: Heritage Open Days

Event Navigation

Explore the garden of what is believed to be the oldest surviving residential house in North Lincolnshire, a rare example of early domestic architecture that has stood for centuries. While the Grade II* listed house itself speaks volumes through its historic structure and design, the surrounding garden offers a living glimpse into the period it was built.

Lovingly maintained by the Barton Volunteers Gardening Group, the garden features plants chosen to reflect the era and lifestyle of the house’s original occupants. Discover how outdoor spaces were designed not only for beauty, but for practical use, especially in the adjacent Physic Garden where medicinal plants once played a vital role in daily health and wellbeing.
