Visit the Ted Lewis Centre on Sunday, September 14 for a day dedicated to Barton’s own Ted Lewis, acclaimed author, screenwriter, and creative force behind Get Carter. The Ted Lewis Centre will host a series of events celebrating his life and legacy. The Centre is open from 10.30am to 8pm and events include: a trail around Barton (11am to 1pm) guided by Ted Lewis’s biographer, Monty Martin; visiting Ted’s favourite local spots; a screening of rare Get Carter American remake, Hit Man (4pm to 5.30pm); and an evening presentation exploring Ted’s work and private life (6pm to 7.30pm). A must for fans of literature, film, and local heritage.
