Good to Talk Walk

What started as a simple social media post from Barton resident Gareth Morrison has grown into one of the town’s most inspiring community initiatives.

Good to Talk Walk brings people together every Sunday morning to enjoy a friendly walk, fresh air along the Humber, and, most importantly, good conversation.

Open to everyone, the walks welcome all ages and abilities, including families, dogs, seasoned walkers and complete beginners. No one is left behind, and a post-walk breakfast at a local café or pub has become a much-loved tradition!

Created to support mental wellbeing and tackle loneliness, the group has helped people form friendships, find support, and for some, make truly life-changing connections. Gareth hopes the idea will continue to grow and inspire similar walks in other communities.

✅Free, friendly and open to all

✅Weekly Sunday morning walks

✅Monthly evening walk across the Humber Bridge

If you’d like to take part, search Good to Talk Walk on Facebook to find upcoming walk dates.
