Last Barton Civic Society lecture of 2025

Local sculptor, illustrator and woodcarver O. H. Boyd returns to Barton Civic Society to discuss his involvement with the two most recent Royal Coaches. He created the Imperial Crown centrepiece for the Diamond State Coach, commissioned to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, and more recently he carved the crown for the new King’s State Coach, which was commissioned for King Charles III, and is the first coach made for a king in 262 years, that has been built over the past six years in Sydney, Australia by coachbuilder Jim Frecklington, with the help of an international team of craftsmen.
