Barton Civic Society puts spotlight on the Humber Bridge

Join Barton upon Humber Civic Society this Friday, March 15 for a talk on the Humber Bridge, as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations.

Landscape historian Richard Clarke will explore the various schemes to bridge the Humber leading up to the ultimate crossing, which opened in 1981. Then local historian Brian Peeps will illustrate its construction through to the official opening by the Queen, using rare images from his collection.

The talk takes place at Joseph Wright Hall from 7.30pm and is free of charge to Civic Society members (£2.00 for non members).

Please note: there has been a change in this talk in the programme, due to ill health of the scheduled speaker Dr Kevin Moore.
