Illyria Theatre return to Baysgarth Park with Dr Dolittle

The ever-popular Illyria Theatre returns to Baysgarth Park on Sunday, August 19, to perform Dr Dolittle.

Organised by Barton Tourism Partnership this is a great opportunity to see a performance by an internationally renowned theatre company who have won four international “Best Performance” awards and attracted numerous “5-star” and “Critics’ Choice” reviews.

The play tells the tale of Dr John Dolittle of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh who starts out as a human doctor but once he is taught by his wise old parrot Polynesia how to talk to animals he becomes the most celebrated veterinary doctor in England.

Word of his skills spreads and animals across the world send messages asking for his help. In this funny, much-loved and exciting adventure there is a strong message about responsibility towards animals and the environment. Suitable for cheeky monkeys aged 5 year and over. The play starts at 2pm in the area outside Baysgarth House Museum.

There is no charge for admission.
