Barton’s Remembrance Day commemorations

Barton’s  Remembrance Day Parade and Services take place this Sunday beginning with the Parade from the town centre to the War Memorial on Barrow Road.

Those wishing to take part in the Parade are asked to assemble outside the Joseph Wright Hall (formerly the Salvation Army Citadel) on Queen Street at 10.15am in readiness to depart at 10.30am and arrive at the War Memorial at 10.50am.

Following the observation of the two minute silence at 11am and the laying of wreaths the Parade returns to St Mary’s Church for a service at 11.30am where Standards will be laid and the names of the fallen will be read out.

An evening service will also be held at 5.30pm in the Community Hall at the rear of the Joseph Wright Hall on Queen Street, Barton the entrance to which is located down the passageway at the side of the building).
