SUMMARY:St. Peter’s Church: an archaeological treasure trove - Heritage Open Days 2019
DESCRIPTION:The famous Anglo-Saxon tower\, and medieval nave and chancel of St. Peter’s Church\, are both archaeological and architectural treasures. Skeletal remains from 2\,800 burials (about a quarter of those estimated to lie here) have yielded important information on early medical practice and the history of diseases such as arthritis. The fascinating “Buried Lives” exhibition and reconstructed skeletons are available to view. Admission is free by kind permission of English Heritage. \n
