SUMMARY:Scroll Ring Workshop with Alastair Scargall - The Ropewalk
DESCRIPTION:Workshop participants will make using sterling silver wire a “scroll ring” with two 6 mm diameter cabochons. The nature of the design allows for the ring to be adjusted in size. Skills will include the following: – silver soldering\, forming/shaping the sterling silver wire using hand tools and jigs. polishing by hand and machine and setting cabochon cut stones. \nMaterials Required\nIf spectacles are worn for close work\, please do not forget to bring them. \nAdditional Information\nLunch is not included in the cost of the workshop\, however our licensed Ropery Coffee Shop offers a delicious range of daily specials and freshly made cakes and refreshments. Lunch orders will be taken at the start of the day or alternatively you may bring a packed lunch. \nAll classes/workshops must be booked and paid for in full in advance. Payments will not be refunded if a cancellation is received less than 14 days prior to the workshop/class. Cancellations made before this 14-day period will be due a refund less the £5 booking fee. \nIf you have any special access or equipment needs please let us know so that we can make any necessary arrangements to accommodate this. \n

DESCRIPTION:2020 saw Clive Gregson’s 40th year in the music business when he was due to mark the end of an era as he’d decided to retire from solo touring at the end of the year. Yes\, you’ve guessed it\, the pandemic put paid to that! To belatedly celebrate his illustrious four-decade career\, Clive will be fitting in as many live dates as practically possible this autumn.\nHe had also planned to release a new album in every month during 2020 – all different\, all new\, all original! The January offering\, One Year “Quite simply\, one of the best albums of his career”\, followed by Raggedy Ass in February… “So\, another month\, another great Gregson album. Roll on March” says Mike Davies for Fatea Magazine. And yes\, you’ve guessed it again\, this plan was significantly disrupted\, although he has managed to produce eight so far. \n
