DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nTed Lewis (1940-1982) was an artist\, illustrator and writer.  He is best known for creating the character Jack Carter\, the protagonist in the 1971 cult film Get Carter\, starring Michael Caine. \nTed’s biographer\, Monty Martin\, will conduct a small group around the Barton Town Centre buildings that featured in the novelist’s life and writings. There is also a printed trail for reference. \nNo fee but a contribution to the Charity would be welcome. DESCRIPTION:This six-week autumn course focuses on drawing techniques – using different materials and methods\, as well as ways of looking at and seeing things in order to create observational studies or develop designs. \nSuitable for those new to drawing as well as those who regularly make time for creativity and wish to further develop their skills\, a mix of working from still life and 2D imagery form the subjects along with a variety of resources to inspire and inform. \nBeginning with trying out a variety skills and media\, the course will then allow for each participant to concentrate on a particular process or subject so that all develop in their own areas of interest with the support and guidance of Linda. \nCreative skills are an asset which enhances our lives; they feed into everyday things\, such as cooking\, gardening and practical activities\, whilst also being a route to relaxation for some\, perhaps a sense of achievement\, learning\, or ‘time out’. \n Materials Required \nBasic drawing equipment e.g.\, sketchbook\, pencil\, rubber\, ruler and pens. \nAdditional Information \nLunch is not included in the cost of the workshop\, however our licensed Ropery Coffee Shop offers a delicious range of daily specials and freshly made cakes and refreshments. Lunch orders will be taken at the start of the day or alternatively you may bring a packed lunch. \n All classes/workshops must be booked and paid for in full in advance. Payments will not be refunded if a cancellation is received less than 14 days prior to the workshop/class. Cancellations made before this 14-day period will be due a refund less the £5 booking fee. \nIf you have any special access or equipment needs please let us know so that we can make any necessary arrangements to accommodate this. \n  \n
