Go wildlife crazy at Waters’ Edge

Get closer to nature at Waters’ Edge Visitor Centre and Country Park’s Wildlife Day on Sunday 31 July from 10am to 4pm when it will be taken over by creatures, great and small.

Waters’ Edge in Barton-upon-Humber will be split up into different zones for families to enjoy a whole range of activities and get up close to wildlife.

Venture into the activity zone where there will be lots of craft and discovery activities for children. Discover the mini petting zoo with Lion Learners and get hands on with everything from fluffy bunnies to slippery snakes and scary spiders.

Outside you can enjoy various activities such as pond dipping, mini beast hunting, nature trails, a guided dragonfly walk, traditional woodland crafts and a foraging walk. You can also get up close with stunning birds of prey with Bridlington Birds of Prey and Animal Park.

Inside the visitor centre there will be the exhibition zone with stands from:

The Woodland Trust, British Dragonfly Society, Humber Nature Partnership, RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), South Yorkshire Badger Group, Guide Dogs, The Lincolnshire Bat Group, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Lincolnshire Bee Keepers Association, Hedgehog Rescue, Cats Protection, Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land, Retired Greyhound Trust

In the activity zone there will be a wide range of activities including: pottery hedgehogs, junk modelling animals,  leaf printing,  felt bug making and observing  weird and wonderful organisms under a microscope

New for this year’s Wildlife Day is an outdoor food market that will be bustling with a range of stalls. They include Pink Pig, Goatwood Dairy, Waltham Herbs, Cote Hill Cheese, Roe’s Farm Dairy, Nat’s Dutch Syrup Waffles, Mr Huda’s, Tulip Kitchen, Redhill Farm Free Range Pork and Fabulously Fruity.

The first 100 children to arrive at Wildlife Day will receive a free goodie bag.
