A summer of high quality theatre awaits families making the most of Sunday afternoons at the annual season of Performance in the Park organised by Barton upon Humber’s Tourism Partnership.

The 2011 season gets underway on Sunday, July 17, with The Storytellers Theatre Company performing the traditional fairy tale, Hansel and Gretel – which contains everything – music, song and drama –with a comic slant.

Bash Street Theatre return to Baysgarth Park with its performance of Cliffhanger on Sunday August 14. Cliffhanger! is a 50-minute long, silent-movie style production that returns to the golden age of the silver screen.

All the performances begin at 2pm and all are free although donations are welcome and the 2011 season is supported by Barton Town Council, South Humber Collection and Barton Lions. Bring along a chair, a picnic and enjoy live performance in the beautiful surroundings of the park.
